The history of the Australian Labradoodles
The Labradoodle was first bred in 1989, when Australian breeder Wally Conron bred the Labrador Retriever with a Standard Poodle, in hopes of creating the ultimate Guide Dog that would be low shedding, easily trained and gentle. This breeding led to the development of the multi generational Australian labradoodles, which is our main focus. We find that the Australian Labradoodles are the right "mix" of desirable qualities -- friendly, peaceful, non/low allergenic, low/non shedding, healthy and loyal.
